You may understand cultivation as the process of:

• Improving moral character
• Removing attachments
• Enduring hardship
• Transforming karma
• Developing spiritual energy or gong
• Returning toward one’s original true self
• Rising to higher spiritual levels

You may believe that karma results from wrongdoing in this life or previous lives.

You may understand suffering, conflict, illness, loss, or hardship as possible opportunities to repay karmic debts, improve character, and advance spiritually.

You may believe that virtue and karma possess more than symbolic meaning and correspond to real spiritual substances.

You may believe that moral improvement alone is not sufficient unless it is joined with genuine cultivation and the relinquishing of attachments.

You may study the teachings of Li Hongzhi and regard Zhuan Falun as the central guide for understanding the practice.

You may perform some or all of the five exercises:

• Buddha Showing a Thousand Hands
• Falun Standing Stance
• Penetrating the Two Cosmic Extremes
• Falun Heavenly Circuit
• Strengthening Divine Powers

You may not consider Falun Dafa a conventional religion.

You may regard it instead as a cultivation way through which a person directly improves the mind, body, and spiritual condition.

You may believe that different religions contain truths appropriate to different levels, but that Falun Dafa reveals a particularly high or comprehensive law of cultivation.

These beliefs raise several essential questions:

Is karma a spiritual substance that can be transformed through suffering?

Did our present suffering result from actions committed in previous lives?

Have we lived many earthly lives?

Can personal hardship pay a moral debt owed to God or to the universe?

Can meditation and exercises purify the soul?

Is humanity’s deepest problem attachment and spiritual ignorance—or guilt and corruption caused by sin?

Can someone return to an original true self through cultivation?

Is the true self already pure beneath acquired corruption—or must God give us a new heart?

Does moral character produce spiritual salvation—or does salvation first create transformed character?

Is Li Hongzhi a uniquely authoritative spiritual teacher?

Is Jesus one enlightened being among many—or the eternal Creator and only Savior?

Can suffering eliminate karma—or did Jesus bear the full judgment for sin upon the cross?

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

What Is Falun Gong?

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, was introduced publicly in China by Li Hongzhi during the early 1990s.

It arose within the broader Chinese tradition of spiritual cultivation practices involving:

• Moral discipline
• Meditation
• Breathing and bodily exercises
• Spiritual development
• Teachings associated with Buddhist and Taoist ideas

Falun Dafa’s main text is:

Zhuan Falun.

The practice teaches that exercises are important, but improvement of moral character is central.

A practitioner is expected to conform increasingly to:

• Truthfulness
• Compassion
• Forbearance

Falun Dafa does not ordinarily require:

• Formal membership
• A church building
• Initiation fees
• A professional clergy
• Withdrawal from ordinary family or working life

Its teachings and exercise instructions are commonly distributed without charge.

Falun Gong Practitioners Have Faced Persecution

Falun Gong practitioners have experienced severe repression in China.

Biblical Christians should oppose:

• Torture
• Arbitrary imprisonment
• Forced ideological conformity
• Religious persecution
• Violence against peaceful people

Jesus commanded His followers to treat others as they would want to be treated:

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.”

Disagreement with Falun Gong’s teachings does not justify mistreatment of its practitioners.

At the same time, sympathy for people who suffer persecution does not require accepting every spiritual claim they hold.

Truth and compassion must remain together.

Important Areas of Agreement

Falun Gong practitioners and biblical Christians may share several serious concerns.

Both may affirm that:

• Truthfulness is morally important.
• Compassion should guide our treatment of others.
• Patience and endurance are virtues.
• Selfish attachments can enslave people.
• Hatred, greed, lust, pride, and dishonesty are destructive.
• Human beings possess a spiritual dimension.
• The visible material world is not all that exists.
• Moral choices have consequences.
• Spiritual discipline requires more than outward ceremony.
• People should remain peaceful in the face of mistreatment.

The Bible commands truthfulness:

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour.”
— Ephesians 4:25, KJV

It commands compassion:

“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
— Luke 6:36, KJV

It commands patient endurance:

“Let patience have her perfect work…”
— James 1:4, KJV

It warns against destructive desires:

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father…”

Christians should not oppose honesty, kindness, endurance, self-control, or peaceful conduct merely because Falun Gong also values them.

The deeper question is how sinful people become righteous before God.

Are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance Good?

Yes.

Truthfulness reflects God’s character:

“God… cannot lie.”
— Titus 1:2, KJV

Compassion reflects His mercy:

“The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.”
— Psalm 145:8, KJV

Patient endurance reflects spiritual maturity:

“Tribulation worketh patience.”
— Romans 5:3, KJV

But the existence of good moral principles does not settle every question concerning:

• God
• Karma
• Reincarnation
• Salvation
• Jesus Christ
• Life after death

A spiritual system may commend real virtues while incorrectly explaining humanity’s condition and the way of salvation.

Is Truthfulness Merely a Universal Energy or Characteristic?

The Bible presents truth as rooted in the personal God.

Truth is not merely an impersonal law woven into the universe.

God is true:

“A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”
— Deuteronomy 32:4, KJV

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life…”
— John 14:6, KJV

Truth exists because the personal Creator is truthful and reality conforms to His nature and will.

We do not merely assimilate ourselves to an impersonal universal characteristic.

We must be reconciled to the living God.

Who Created the Universe?

The universe is not self-existent.

Its moral order is not independent from God.

The Bible begins:

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1, KJV

God created:

• Matter
• Energy
• Time
• Space
• Human beings
• Spiritual beings
• Every law governing creation

The universe does not stand above God as a higher law to which even He must conform.

God is the source of all created order.

Is Every Substance Alive?

Falun Dafa teachings may describe matter throughout the cosmos as possessing forms of life or spiritual characteristics beyond ordinary human perception.

The Bible teaches that creation displays God’s wisdom and power.

It also distinguishes clearly among:

• The Creator
• Living creatures
• Human beings
• Angels
• Inanimate creation

A stone is part of God’s creation, but Scripture does not teach that every physical particle is a conscious life possessing a moral nature.

We should not assign spiritual consciousness to matter without revelation or reliable evidence.

What Is Karma?

Within Falun Dafa teaching, karma is commonly described as something produced through wrongdoing.

It may be associated with:

• Harmful actions
• Selfish conduct
• Injustice
• Wrongdoing in previous lives
• Suffering or illness
• Spiritual obstacles

Karma may also be described as a dark or black substance that can be transformed through cultivation, moral improvement, and hardship.

The Bible agrees that wrongdoing produces consequences.

Paul writes:

“Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
— Galatians 6:7, KJV

But biblical moral accountability is personal accountability before God—not an impersonal substance mechanically operating across many lives.

Is Sin the Same as Karma?

No.

The concepts overlap because both recognize that wrongdoing has consequences.

But sin is fundamentally personal rebellion against God.

David prayed:

“Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight…”
— Psalm 51:4, KJV

Sin is not merely:

• A dark substance
• Cosmic imbalance
• A spiritual impurity
• An obstacle preventing advancement

It is guilt before the holy Creator.

Because sin is personal rebellion, the answer must involve personal forgiveness and reconciliation.

Have We Lived Previous Earthly Lives?

No.

The Bible teaches one earthly life followed by judgment:

“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
— Hebrews 9:27, KJV

Human beings are not repeatedly reincarnated so that they can pay debts or continue cultivation.

We are created as unique persons.

After death, we face God and await bodily resurrection.

Could Forgotten Previous Lives Explain Present Suffering?

The Bible does not teach that ordinary suffering is repayment for sins committed in forgotten lives.

When Jesus’ disciples saw a man born blind, they asked whether his condition resulted from his own sin or his parents’ sin.

Jesus answered:

“Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”
— John 9:3, KJV

The man’s blindness was not punishment for wrongdoing committed before birth.

Jesus rejected that assumption.

Why Do People Suffer?

Suffering has several possible causes.

It may result from:

• Living in a fallen world
• Our own foolish decisions
• Another person’s wrongdoing
• Natural physical weakness
• Persecution
• Divine discipline
• Consequences God allows for purposes we do not yet understand

Not every hardship is direct punishment for one particular sin.

Job suffered intensely, yet his friends were wrong to assume his suffering proved hidden wickedness.

Jesus suffered more than any righteous man, though He never sinned.

Can Suffering Repay Moral Debt?

Suffering may discipline, humble, strengthen, or teach a person.

It may expose attachments and deepen compassion.

But suffering does not automatically pay the guilt of sin.

A criminal’s pain does not by itself restore justice, reconcile him to the person harmed, or transform his heart.

Justice requires more than experiencing difficulty.

Sin requires forgiveness grounded in a righteous atonement.

Can Suffering Transform Karma Into Virtue?

The Bible does teach that trials may produce spiritual maturity:

“The trying of your faith worketh patience.”
— James 1:3, KJV

But the trial does not mechanically convert a dark spiritual substance into a white substance.

God uses trials personally and purposefully in those who trust Him.

Spiritual character grows through:

• God’s grace
• The Holy Ghost
• Faith
• Truth
• Obedience
• Divine discipline

Suffering has no saving power independent of God.

Should Illness Be Interpreted as Karma?

No.

Illness may arise through:

• Infection
• Genetics
• Injury
• Aging
• Environmental exposure
• Unknown physical causes
• Living in a fallen world

Some illness may be connected with personal choices, but Scripture does not permit us to assume that an ill person is paying karmic debt.

Jesus often responded to sick people with compassion rather than treating them as people who needed to endure illness to purify themselves.

“Jesus… was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”
— Matthew 14:14, KJV

Is Seeking Medical Care a Spiritual Failure?

No.

The Bible does not condemn receiving ordinary care for illness or injury.

Jesus said:

“They that be whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.”
— Luke 5:31, KJV

Paul advised Timothy concerning a physical condition:

“Use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.”
— 1 Timothy 5:23, KJV

Medical treatment does not prevent God from working spiritually through suffering.

A person may seek responsible care while also praying, trusting God, and growing through the experience.

Can Exercises Purify the Soul?

Physical exercises may:

• Improve flexibility
• Encourage relaxation
• Develop discipline
• Help people become physically active
• Create opportunities for quiet reflection

But bodily movement cannot remove guilt before God.

Paul writes:

“Bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things…”
— 1 Timothy 4:8, KJV

The verse does not say physical exercise has no value.

It says spiritual reconciliation and godliness possess far greater importance.

Can Meditation Save Us?

Biblical meditation is valuable.

God told Joshua:

“Thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein…”
— Joshua 1:8, KJV

Biblical meditation focuses upon:

• God
• His works
• His Word
• His promises
• Faithful obedience

Meditation does not save through altered consciousness, accumulated energy, or rising spiritual levels.

Its value comes from directing the mind toward God’s truth.

What Are Attachments?

Falun Dafa places strong emphasis upon relinquishing attachments such as:

• Fame
• Wealth
• Jealousy
• Anger
• Lust
• Fear
• Personal gain
• Desire for spiritual powers

The Bible also warns against being ruled by desires and possessions.

Jesus said:

“A man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
— Luke 12:15, KJV

Paul writes:

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth… evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”
— Colossians 3:5, KJV

Freedom from sinful attachments is necessary.

But detachment alone cannot reconcile someone to God.

Are All Desires Wrong?

No.

Some desires are sinful.

Others are good gifts from God.

Good desires include:

• Love for family
• Hunger for righteousness
• Desire to know God
• Compassion for suffering people
• Longing for justice
• Hope for eternal life

The answer is not to extinguish every desire.

It is to have our desires purified and rightly ordered under God.

David wrote:

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
— Psalm 37:4, KJV

Is the Original True Self Pure?

Falun Dafa teachings may speak of returning toward an original or true self that has become obscured through attachments, acquired ideas, and karma.

The Bible teaches that humanity was originally created good.

Adam and Eve were made in God’s image.

But after the Fall, every human being enters life as part of fallen humanity.

Our present problem is not merely that a pure self has been covered by external corruption.

Jesus said:

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts…”
— Mark 7:21, KJV

The corruption operates from within.

Do We Need to Discover Ourselves or Be Made New?

We need more than self-discovery.

We need new birth.

Jesus said:

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
— John 3:3, KJV

God promised:

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you…”
— Ezekiel 36:26, KJV

Salvation is not the uncovering of an already perfect spiritual identity.

It is God forgiving, regenerating, and transforming a fallen sinner.

What Is Spiritual Cultivation?

Spiritual cultivation generally means disciplined effort to improve one’s character and spiritual condition.

Discipline has value.

Paul wrote:

“I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection…”
— 1 Corinthians 9:27, KJV

Christians are commanded to grow in:

• Faith
• Virtue
• Knowledge
• Self-control
• Patience
• Godliness
• Love

But biblical growth begins after God gives spiritual life.

We do not cultivate ourselves upward until we become worthy of salvation.

Can Moral Improvement Produce Spiritual Power?

Improved character may produce trust, wisdom, stronger relationships, and greater self-control.

But moral conduct does not generate a spiritual energy that elevates someone toward divine status.

True spiritual power belongs to God.

Jesus told His disciples:

“Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…”
— Acts 1:8, KJV

God’s power is received through relationship with Him, not produced by accumulating spiritual merit.

Should People Seek Supernatural Abilities?

No.

Spiritual power can become a source of pride, deception, and dangerous curiosity.

The Bible warns against occult attempts to obtain hidden knowledge or power.

Jesus also warned that miraculous claims do not prove someone belongs to God:

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?… and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you…”
— Matthew 7:22–23, KJV

The greatest evidence of spiritual life is not supernatural ability.

It is truth, holiness, love, and obedience to Jesus.

Can Spiritual Experiences Be Deceptive?

Yes.

A person may experience:

• Energy sensations
• Visions
• Dreams
• A feeling of leaving the body
• Apparent messages
• Unusual peace
• Physical warmth

without proving that the explanation attached to the experience is true.

Scripture says:

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…”
— 1 John 4:1, KJV

Experiences must be tested by God’s revelation.

Are There Higher Spiritual Beings?

Yes.

The Bible teaches the existence of:

• Angels
• Demons
• Cherubim
• Seraphim
• Spiritual rulers and powers

But not every spiritual being is trustworthy.

Paul warns:

“Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
— 2 Corinthians 11:14, KJV

Claims attributed to Buddhas, divine beings, spirits, or higher dimensions must not be accepted merely because they seem compassionate or powerful.

Can a Spiritual Teacher Remove Another Person’s Karma?

No human teacher can erase another person’s guilt before God.

Spiritual teachers may instruct, encourage, warn, or guide.

But Scripture declares:

“None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him.”
— Psalm 49:7, KJV

Only one Person could provide the necessary ransom:

Jesus Christ.

Who Is Li Hongzhi?

Li Hongzhi is the teacher who publicly introduced Falun Dafa and authored or delivered its principal teachings.

Practitioners may regard him as:

• Master
• Teacher
• The one who revealed Falun Dafa publicly
• A guide capable of assisting genuine cultivation

The question is not whether he has influenced many people or encouraged certain moral virtues.

The question is whether his claims about karma, previous lives, spiritual levels, divine beings, salvation, and the universe agree with God’s revealed Word.

Can Any Teacher Stand Above Biblical Examination?

No.

Even the apostle Paul’s teaching was examined by Scripture:

“They searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
— Acts 17:11, KJV

No teacher should be accepted as spiritually authoritative because of:

• Charisma
• Personal testimony
• Claims of supernatural knowledge
• A large following
• Reported spiritual experiences
• Apparent moral insight

Every claim must be tested.

Do Many Religions Reveal Different Levels of the Same Truth?

Different religions may contain some similar moral teachings.

But their central claims often contradict one another.

For example:

• We live once—or we live many lives.
• God is personal—or ultimate truth is an impersonal law.
• Sin requires forgiveness—or karma must be repaid.
• Jesus is the Creator—or He is one spiritual being among many.
• Salvation is a gift—or spiritual elevation is achieved through cultivation.

Contradictory claims cannot all be true in the same sense.

Who Is Jesus Christ?

Jesus is not merely:

• A moral teacher
• A spiritually advanced being
• One enlightened figure among many
• A teacher from one cultivation system
• A manifestation appropriate to one historical period

He is the eternal Word:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
— John 1:1, KJV

He created everything:

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
— John 1:3, KJV

He became human:

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”
— John 1:14, KJV

Jesus is not one being progressing within the universe.

He is the Creator who entered His creation.

Did Jesus Need Spiritual Cultivation?

No.

Jesus did not begin as a morally mixed being who needed to eliminate karma or attachments.

He was completely holy:

“Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.”
— 1 Peter 2:22, KJV

He was:

“Holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners…”
— Hebrews 7:26, KJV

Jesus grew physically and experienced true human life, but He did not cultivate Himself upward toward purity.

He was the sinless Son from the beginning.

Why Did Jesus Come?

Jesus came because humanity could not save itself through moral improvement.

He said:

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
— Luke 19:10, KJV

He also said:

“The Son of man came… to give his life a ransom for many.”
— Mark 10:45, KJV

A cultivation teacher shows people how to improve themselves.

A Savior rescues people who cannot rescue themselves.

Why Did Jesus Die?

Jesus died for our sins:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3, KJV

Peter writes:

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree…”
— 1 Peter 2:24, KJV

Isaiah prophesied:

“The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
— Isaiah 53:6, KJV

Jesus did not die to repay karma from His own previous lives.

He had no previous earthly lives and no sin.

He voluntarily bore the judgment deserved by others.

Can Another Person Bear Our Guilt?

An ordinary person cannot simply absorb another person’s moral guilt.

But Jesus is not an ordinary person.

He is the Creator against whom sin was committed, who became human to provide the sacrifice justice required.

Jesus said:

“I lay down my life… No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.”
— John 10:17–18, KJV

His sacrifice was voluntary, holy, and sufficient.

Did Jesus Pay the Complete Debt?

Yes.

From the cross, Jesus declared:

“It is finished.”
— John 19:30, KJV

Hebrews says:

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
— Hebrews 10:14, KJV

The believer does not need to repay the remaining portion of a karmic debt through future suffering.

Jesus paid the complete price required for forgiveness.

Does This Mean Christians Never Suffer?

No.

Christians still experience:

• Illness
• Loss
• Persecution
• Aging
• Discipline
• Consequences of poor choices
• Trials that strengthen faith

But suffering is not payment added to Jesus’ atonement.

God may use trials to mature His children, but their guilt has already been answered through Christ.

Did Jesus Bodily Rise From the Dead?

Yes.

Jesus predicted:

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
— John 2:19, KJV

John explains:

“But he spake of the temple of his body.”
— John 2:21, KJV

After rising, Jesus said:

“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see…”
— Luke 24:39, KJV

His resurrection was not merely spiritual ascension to a higher level.

His actual body came out of the grave.

Why Does the Resurrection Matter?

The resurrection proves that:

• Jesus is who He claimed to be.
• His sacrifice was accepted.
• Death has been defeated.
• Human beings do not need repeated earthly lives.
• Believers will be bodily raised.
• Jesus possesses authority to judge humanity.

God:

“Hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
— Acts 17:31, KJV

What Happens After Death?

We do not reincarnate into another earthly body.

We face judgment:

“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
— Hebrews 9:27, KJV

Those who belong to Christ await bodily resurrection and eternal life.

Those who reject Him face judgment.

This life is therefore spiritually urgent.

There is no guaranteed sequence of future lives through which to complete cultivation.

Can Good Character Save Us?

No.

Truthfulness, compassion, and patience are good.

But no one practices them perfectly.

Have you always:

• Told the complete truth?
• Acted compassionately?
• Endured mistreatment without sinful anger?
• Rejected selfishness?
• Kept every thought pure?

The Bible says:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23, KJV

Improvement cannot erase guilt for earlier failure.

Can Virtue Outweigh Karma?

No.

Good actions cannot function as excess credit that cancels unrelated wrongdoing.

If someone commits theft, later generosity does not change the fact that justice was violated.

Paul writes:

“By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight…”
— Romans 3:20, KJV

Our good works matter, but they cannot serve as payment for sin.

How Is a Person Saved?

Salvation is God’s gift:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9, KJV

It is not obtained through:

• Meditation
• Exercises
• Enduring enough suffering
• Accumulating virtue
• Eliminating every attachment
• Rising through spiritual levels
• Following a human master

It is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Does Grace Make Moral Cultivation Unnecessary?

Grace does not leave people unchanged.

The next verse says:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works…”
— Ephesians 2:10, KJV

The biblical order is:

1. God forgives and saves through Jesus.
2. The Holy Ghost gives new life.
3. The believer grows in truthfulness, compassion, patience, purity, and obedience.

Good character is the fruit of salvation.

It is not the price of salvation.

Who Produces Spiritual Character?

The Holy Ghost produces transformed character within believers.

Paul writes:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance…”
— Galatians 5:22–23, KJV

Notice the similarities to qualities valued in Falun Dafa:

• Truthful faithfulness
• Compassionate love
• Longsuffering
• Self-control
• Gentleness

But these are called the fruit of the Spirit—not spiritual merit manufactured through human cultivation.

Can You Know That You Have Eternal Life?

Yes.

Assurance does not rest upon wondering whether enough karma has been removed or whether your cultivation level is high enough.

John writes:

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”

Jesus said:

“He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”
— John 6:47, KJV

The believer’s confidence rests upon Jesus’ completed work and promise.

What If Falun Gong Helped You?

You do not need to deny every positive experience in order to examine its spiritual claims.

You may believe the practice helped you:

• Become calmer
• Control anger
• Tell the truth more consistently
• Become more compassionate
• Endure hardship
• Abandon destructive habits
• Become physically active
• Find supportive friendships
• Respond peacefully to persecution

Those benefits may be meaningful.

But the decisive question is not merely:

“Did this practice help me?”

It is:

“Does it tell the truth about God, previous lives, karma, suffering, salvation, Jesus Christ, death, and judgment?”

What If Christians Have Behaved Worse?

Some professing Christians are:

• Dishonest
• Harsh
• Impatient
• Materialistic
• Hypocritical
• Unkind toward persecuted people

Those failures contradict Jesus’ teaching.

They should be acknowledged and repented of.

But the failure of a Christian does not prove that Jesus is false.

Compare Falun Gong’s teachings with Jesus Himself—not merely with people who use His name poorly.

What Must You Do?

1. Place God Above the Universe

Recognize that moral truth comes from the personal Creator rather than from an impersonal cosmic law.

“The LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.”

2. Reject Reincarnation

You have one earthly life, followed by judgment.

“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
— Hebrews 9:27, KJV

3. Recognize Your Personal Sin

Your deepest problem is not merely karma, attachments, or failure to cultivate sufficiently.

You have personally sinned against God.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23, KJV

4. Stop Trusting in Suffering to Repay Guilt

Hardship may teach and strengthen you, but it cannot atone for sin.

Jesus alone bore the required judgment.

5. Stop Trusting in Exercises and Meditation

They may affect the body or emotions, but they cannot cleanse the conscience.

“The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
— 1 John 1:7, KJV

6. Recognize Jesus as the Eternal Creator

Do not regard Him merely as one enlightened spiritual being.

“All things were made by him…”
— John 1:3, KJV

7. Repent

Turn from sin, self-righteousness, occult spiritual pursuit, reincarnation, confidence in cultivation, and every authority that competes with Jesus.

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”
— Acts 3:19, KJV

8. Believe the Gospel

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, KJV

9. Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God…”
— John 1:12, KJV

10. Trust Him Completely

Do not trust partly in Jesus and partly in:

• Falun Dafa
• Li Hongzhi
• Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance
• Meditation
• The five exercises
• Enduring suffering
• Transforming karma
• Eliminating attachments
• Advancing through cultivation levels

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”
— Acts 16:31, KJV

11. Live Truthfully, Compassionately, and Patiently as the Fruit of Salvation

Following Jesus does not mean becoming dishonest, cruel, or impatient.

Those whom He saves should increasingly display:

• Truthfulness
• Compassion
• Patience
• Forgiveness
• Purity
• Humility
• Courage
• Love for enemies

But this character grows from new life in Christ—not from an attempt to earn it.

A Prayer From an Honest Heart

Repeating a prayer cannot save you. Jesus Christ saves. But you may express sincere repentance and faith in words such as these:

God of truth, compassion, patience, holiness, and justice, Creator of heaven and earth, I want to know You exactly as You have revealed Yourself. I confess that I have sinned against You in my thoughts, words, desires, and actions. I cannot cleanse myself through Falun Dafa, meditation, exercises, suffering, transforming karma, removing attachments, cultivating moral character, or rising to higher spiritual levels. I believe that I have one earthly life and that I must answer to You. I believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Word and Creator who became truly human, lived without sin, bore my guilt, died in my place, and bodily rose from the dead. I believe He completely paid the debt of sin and that I cannot add anything to His finished work. I turn from sin, reincarnation, self-salvation, occult spiritual pursuit, and every teacher or spiritual authority that competes with Jesus. I place my complete trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord, Savior, righteousness, High Priest, and only Mediator. Forgive me, give me a new heart, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and teach me to walk in truth, compassion, patience, holiness, humility, and love. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The saving power is not in repeating these exact words.

The question is whether you have genuinely turned from sin and self-cultivation to the living God through Jesus Christ.

What If Your Family or Friends Practice Falun Gong?

Continue loving and respecting them.

Do not mock:

• Their suffering
• Their peaceful discipline
• Their concern for truthfulness
• Their desire to become compassionate
• Their patient endurance
• Their cultural background

Do not support persecution or cruelty against them.

Your own life should increasingly demonstrate the character you claim Jesus produces:

• Honesty
• Compassion
• Patience
• Humility
• Courage
• Love
• Faithfulness

You may explain gently:

“I remain grateful for the emphasis upon truthfulness, compassion, patience, moral discipline, and peaceful endurance. But I now believe the Bible teaches that we live once, that suffering does not transform karma or pay for guilt, and that Jesus Christ completely bore my sins and bodily rose from the dead. I no longer trust spiritual cultivation to save me.”

“Be ready always to give an answer… with meekness and fear.”

Do we need to return to a hidden true self—or receive a new heart?

Who completely paid the debt of sin?

Who bodily defeated death?

Who can give eternal life immediately?

Our Purpose

Our purpose is not to insult Falun Gong practitioners, dismiss their persecution, mock Chinese spiritual traditions, or pretend that everyone carrying a Christian label follows Jesus faithfully.

Many church members also trust in:

• Moral improvement
• Religious exercises
• Meditation
• Personal suffering
• Church attendance
• Good works
• A spiritual leader
• A prayer once repeated

rather than Jesus Christ.

Every person must examine the foundation:

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.”
— 2 Corinthians 13:5, KJV

Truthfulness matters.

Compassion matters.

Patient endurance matters.

Self-control matters.

Freedom from greed, jealousy, hatred, and lust matters.

Peaceful treatment of others matters.

Persecution is wrong.

But the universe is not God.

Truth is rooted in the personal Creator.

We have not lived many previous earthly lives.

We live once and then face judgment.

Karma is not a dark substance transformed into virtue through suffering.

Illness does not prove karmic debt.

Suffering cannot remove moral guilt.

Exercises cannot cleanse the conscience.

Meditation cannot purchase forgiveness.

Moral character cannot erase past sin.

Humanity’s problem is not merely acquired attachments covering a pure original self.

Sin proceeds from the fallen heart.

We do not merely need to return to ourselves.

We need God to give us a new heart.

Li Hongzhi is not the final authority concerning God, suffering, salvation, or eternity.

Spiritual experiences must be tested.

Apparent supernatural powers do not prove divine truth.

Jesus Christ is not one spiritual master among many.

He is the eternal Word.

He was with God.

He was God.

He created everything.

He became truly human.

He never sinned.

He possessed no karma to remove.

He bore our sins in His body.

He willingly died in our place.

He declared, “It is finished.”

His actual body rose from the grave.

He defeated sin and death.

He gives new birth through the Holy Ghost.

He offers complete forgiveness rather than a program of karmic repayment.

He gives eternal life as a gift.

Do not rest your eternal hope in Falun Dafa, Li Hongzhi, meditation, exercises, moral cultivation, enduring suffering, transforming karma, removing attachments, or returning to an imagined original self. Come completely to Jesus Christ—the eternal Creator, embodiment of Truth, giver of a new heart, bearer of your sins, bodily risen Lord, and only giver of everlasting life.
